Amazon is the largest Internet-based retailer in the United States. Founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos, Amazon was originally named "Cadabra" - and made its online debut in 1995. Amazon began as an online bookstore and within its first two months in business, had made sells in all fifty states and 45 countries around the world. (In case you're wondering, the first book ever sold on Amazon.com was Fluid Concepts and Creative Analogies by Douglas Hofstadte.) Amazon has since expanded its product line to include electronics, appliances, household goods, apparel, TV shows, Amazon echo, Amazon video and more.
